Sora no Tenbōjo (Sky Observatory)
Located about 4 km up from the starting point of the Bungo Kuroshio Line, which connects Yonōzu and Kamae, Sora no Kōen (Sky Park) sits at an elevation of around 250 meters. From this scenic viewpoint, you can enjoy sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean (Hyūga-nada), and on clear days, even spot the distant mountains of Shikoku. The park features spacious grassy areas, making it a perfect spot for families. Bring a picnic and a blanket, and the sea breeze and open space will provide the ideal setting for children to play freely. It is also known as a sacred place for fans of the professional cycling team “Sparkle Oita Racing Team,” who come here to pray for victory.
